Presentation

Here, in La Boîte à Joujoux, one doubtless better understands why all these gifts, combined in the two "little hands" of Yvonne Lefébure, work wonders in recreating the composer’s imaginative universe. At her side, Pierre Bertin is a marvellous accomplice. No editing here – just a simple start-to-finish (but with such a result!). It was in 1957. And it was exactly a month earlier that Bach’s Concerto in D minor, conducted by Fernand Oubradous, was recorded live in the framework of the famous Salle Gaveau Sunday concerts. It, too, is in mono but that is of little matter: the music is here, and the audience was not mistaken about that! As for the Prelude and fugue in C# major, it was broadcast in February 1971 (also live) in the course of the radio programme ‘Que savons-nous de la musique?’ (What do we know about music?’).
