Presentation
In this fourth and final CD devoted to Pablo Sarasate’s music for violin and piano, we propose a series of selected pieces on the federating theme: ‘the song of the nightingale’. After genre pieces based on traditional dances, typically Spanish tunes andsouvenirs of operas, this kind of free work enabled him to give concrete form to his instrumental research in service to his poetic imaginative universe, from Confidences, Op. 7 up to L’Esprit follet, one of his final scores. Thus, as his career continued,the itinerary was punctuated with the little gems to be discovered throughout this last volume
