For more than forty-five years now, and despite all obstacles, François and Yvette Carbou - the founding producers - have never had any ambition other than combining rarity and quality of works and performers alike, in each of their recording projects.

Nestled in the vineyards of Sigean, at the foot of the Corbières mountains, FY and Disques du Solstice feature some 200 titles in their catalogue, while maintaining a craftsman-like vocation and approach.
Having its beginnings in the organ loft of Notre-Dame de Paris, with the support and involvement of the great Pierre Cochereau (who was their first artist... and best man at their wedding !), their adventure led them to recording the musical testament of pianist Yvonne Lefébure and initiating the all-too-brief career of countertenor Henri Ledroit.

This triple sponsorship of the organ, piano and voice guided them in later directions, which, in time, would include the harpsichord, chamber music and, on some occasions, orchestra and chorus with a particular predilection for French music and previously unrecorded works.

Thus have they offered a number of world premieres to discophiles and, on a number of occasions, revealed unjustly neglected composers.
